GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

This past week was a busy week at the Christian Center. The School of Evangelism was conducted Wednesday thru Friday.  On Saturday we had our church picnic and water baptism.

Pictured above is Rev. R.A teaching the street evangelism class.  The class was from 10 am to 12:30 pm each morning and then teams were sent out to different locations to witness. There was a total of 64 people who accepted Christ on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sunday Services
The praise and worship was awesome! The presence of the Lord filled the house, as people sang of their love for Him. Bishop Farley ministered on “Being Pregnant with your Miracle!” There was a prophecy from the midst of the congregation in which the Lord said “He was receiving our worship and was blessed by it.”
We appreciate Brother Lenny Reese who filled in as our drummer and his beautiful wife Sharon who sang a special, that stirred the hearts of those in attendance.

Bishop presented Bro. Reese with a certificate for completing the evangelism training.

LENNY WILL BE PLAYING THE DRUMS WITH THE WORSHIP TEAM THIS SATURDAY FOR THE CONCERT AT MUSSELMAN HIGH SCHOOL AT 4 PM.
Box Sermon
Logan placed a New Testament entitled “HOPE” in the box. Pastor Karren Farley talked about the hope found in Jesus and in the Word of God.You need to be prayed up so that when something happens you will automatically cry out to God for help!

THERE WERE TWO CANDIDATES FOR BAPTISM THIS PAST SATURDAY. Melody Choiniere and Levi St Thomas.  Mom is ecstatic over Levi being baptized.

Sunday Services
Bishop Farley was ministering in Thurmont, MD. He installed Rev. Aaron Reynolds as pastor of Victory Tabernacle.
This was also Aaron’s Ordination service.
Rev. Leonard Fyke spoke on the subject of Heaven. Heaven is a physical place. 30% of Americans don’t believe that there is a physical Hell. The world and even church members think that you need to be good to get to heaven. The thief on the cross said, “remember me and Jesus said this day you will be with me in paradise.”
We don’t know what Heaven is like, but we know Jesus Christ said, “In my Fathers house are many mansions or dwellings. We can never say how good is good!
He challenged everyone to tell one person who believe that being good enough, that it is not enough you must accept Jesus Christ into your hearts.
Box Sermon
Anna Christophel placed a Reindeer  with an advertisement for Staples on its collar and a magnifying glass. Pastor Karren Farley shared how advertisements are bombarding us. We need to be aware so that they don’t lead us down the wrong paths. She shared that there is a  painting in a museum depicting the Bible and on the front it says “Bible, Warning may impair judgment.”  We need to realize the world is trying to control our wants, needs, desires and opinions. We are under a magnifying glass with God and the world. So we need to be aware of our walk and actions.

DON'T FORGET THE CHURCH PICNIC AND BAPTISM AT THE WHITE HOUSE THIS SATURDAY 24TH AT 3 PM

Bishop Rick and Karren invited Shift N Steel Sports Riderz for the 2nd annual SSSR picnic in honor of Jason (Coffee ) Farley. Jason rode with SSSR and was one of their road captains.

The President Bussa Mike of SSSR and Bishop raise the flag that was draped over Jason’s coffin . We raise this flag every Picnic with SSSR in honor of Jason. While everyone surrounds the Memorial Garden. SSSR Chaplin Earl Barnes led us in prayer.
Chaplain Carl Brown attended from Fort Bragg, NC. Picture here is Elder Terry White giving Carl directions to the Pentagon from our house.

Sunday

Sunday morning we had a guest speaker, Pastor Paul Wolverton, from the Presbyterian Church. He preached a salvation message and used the illustration of his grandmothers clothes pole. He said this was the only thing he had of his grandmothers. Back in her day they painted their furniture and she had painted her clothes pole green. He said he had taken it to school where he is a counselor and had the students in shop sand the pole. They found that there were three different colors under green. The analogy is that we cover a lot in our lives, that we need to repent of.

Pastor Ed Dance ministered in the evening service. Bishop Farley was called away unexpectedly due to the death of one of the District ministers, Rev. Dr. Basil Small.

Bishops Trip and Funeral

The funeral was conducted at Bethesda Healing Center in Brooklyn, NY. Bishop Farley ministered on the life after death and what God has in store for the righteous. There were many pastors in attendance that testified of Pastor Smalls accomplishments and friendship.

Sunday

Pastor Karren Farley preached  the morning service. The title of her message was “God I want to be excited about serving you!” She spoke on Zacchaeus found in Luke 19: 1-10. Zacchaeus was excited about Jesus coming to his town. He had too see this man they called Jesus. He decided to use whatever means necessary to get to him. When you desire to see Jesus you will break through a great deal of difficulty and opposition to do so.

What is it that makes you feel inferior coming to Jesus? She stood on a object to illustrate Zacchaeus being in the tree. Pastor Dance played the part of Jesus looking up at Zacchaeus. Jesus called him by name even though they had never met. Jesus knows you by name as well
When you think about being in Church are you looking forward to it? Are you excited? Are you praying for the Ministers? Are you asking God for a word for you?  Karren pointed out that conviction is a good thing.

Box Sermon

Rev. Leonard Fyke preached the box sermon. Jonathan placed a bottle of Elmers Glue in the box. You use glue to glue things together. When you break things in the house and want to fix it before mom finds out, you look for the glue. Jesus is the glue that binds us to God.

Sunday

Rev. Leonard Fyke ministered from Matt. 16: 15-16 . His main theme was who do you say that I am? Peters reply was “Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living God!”
John 7: 37-39  He stressed he who believes! How often do we not live according to the scriptures. A lot of churches are interested in programs , singers, etc. They don’t want to come to smaller churches because they don’t have a lot of programs. One of the things that we have here at the Christian Center is that we preach the word.
Are we, what we are supposed to be and are we being Christ like in our community?
We need people to say we are real! Do you feel bad when you leave a bad attitude with someone? Jesus is a great name, but we need to know that He is the Christ!  We are called to touch peoples lives.

Elder White spoke in the evening service, beginning with an illustration of the motorcycle that they gave Chad for his 18th birthday, not running right. Terry thought about God and how God gave us a plan and it seems like it doesn’t work.
We plan our day out and something goes wrong so the rest of the day is ruined. We set ourselves up for disappointment. How do we overcome? If we say God is the highest goal in our lives, then we need to live a godly life. Do we meet God’s expectations that He has for us. God has a plan and He never gives up on us. John 3: 16, He always has a plan for us. No matter how disappointed He is with us, He gives us a way out!

BOX SERMON

Andrew placed a dump truck in the box. Pastor Karren Farley said, as Christians we hold onto a bunch of stuff in our lives. Such as attitudes, emotions, mistakes, sin. We need to dump a lot of stuff out of our lives. Children are you being picked on by other kids in school? We need to pray about it. We need to dump it on the Lord, and let Him handle it.

We want to say a special thank you to Elder Ben Henderson for all the things he has done in and around the church for the past 30 years. He is a silent servant who waits upon the Lord. Cleaning, fixing, mowing, Children’s church, witnessing and preparing communion.

REVIVAL REPORT! SUNDAY 18TH

Momentum: The speed or force of forward movement of an object!

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

Bishop Ryan began with a message about the 2 men who hung on the crosses next to Jesus. The one was a bitter man who remained bitter and ridiculed against Jesus. The second man was also a criminal, however he was a man willing to let go of his bitterness and past. He asked Jesus to remember him! Jesus said the wonderful words to him “This day you will be with me in paradise.” The Holy Spirit moved in a wonderful way, filling the church with His presence. He used Bishop Ryan to minister to the needs of those present.
You can tell that this meeting will be one of restoration in the souls of God’s Children. Each night we will receive more and more of God’s Spirit until we are full and restored.

We were also blessed by the music ministry of Rev. Lee Ramey and Rev. David Beaver. Their music was anointed and their harmony wonderful. They traveled all the way from New Mexico to be in this meeting.  For those that missed Sunday, I can only say, “You have three more chances to be touched by this special man of God. Monday night at 7:30pm and Tuesday and Wednesday night same time.

Sunday evening the Spirit moved in a great way with a word for many of those in attendance and one soul finding Jesus as their savior!

Tory Chrisman placed a stethoscope in the box. Pastor Karren Farley ministered on how God knows our hearts and what’s inside of our hearts.

SUNDAY

MCC Worship team once again led us into the mighty presence of the Lord.

The message "What is that in your hand"

Bishop Farley preached an awesome message, “What is that in your hand?” from Exodus 4:1-4 1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice: for they will say, The LORD has not appeared to you. 2 And the LORD said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said to Moses, Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand...

What he carried in his hand was his identity – he was a sheepherder- a shepherd. Can he do this job as a shepherd? His staff – his identity influenced the people he was around. The sheep, family, friends but could it influence Pharaoh?

His identity was “Self Actualization” - “Self-Made not God made. Is who you are by God? What you are is what you have made yourself not what God made. He was a snake in the grass. His influence was what he made of himself not what God made. He ran from what he saw the snake in the grass. See who you are and change who you are.

On that day he became the the servant of God and would serve people changing a whole nation. The Man of God influenced by God. Be a man and a woman of God. What the rod became was a man changed to influence people by God not by man. Here I am Lord take me and use me, take my identity and use me for your kingdom.

BOX SERMON

  042510-2.jpg

In the box was an alligator head, Pastor Karren ministered to the children and adults that there is a wild beast in us with a nature that will roar but that nature can be calmed by Jesus. When something scares us we can pray to Jesus and He will calm us. We can pray to Jesus and he will remove all the fear. Testimony – Jessica told Pastor Karren after the   service that the box sermon went right along with Joey coming to Jessica the night before crying and scared. Jessica told Joey to pray to Jesus and he would keep him safe.

Bishop Farley ministered from the Book of Ruth. Speaking on how to move from being a gleaner (meaning only picking up the leftovers) to being an owner of it all. Ruth began gleaning in Boaz’s field, picking up what was missed by his harvesters. She finally asked him to redeem her and Naomi, because he was Naomi’s near kinsman. He agreed and married Ruth.  Now she was more than a servant, she was a co-owner with Boaz of the fields that she had gleaned in.  It all came by changing her relationship with the owner. If you are tired of just going through life gleaning for your needs, you need to develop an intimate relationship with Jesus. Only through intimacy can you reproduce or bear fruit.

BOX SERMON

Madeline and her cousin placed a  baby Jesus in the box. Pastor Karren Farley pulled wrapping paper from the box and threw it in the air. She talked about being tossed about by circumstances and how we all need hope. Then she pulled  baby Jesus out of the box and preached on having Jesus in our lives, to help us deal with those who cause us stress and anxiety in life. We may  feel like we cannot take another step and we fall on our knees. When you feel like you cannot make it anymore, you need to reach out to Jesus. You can rise above the mess that you are in.

Sunday
Bishop spoke on the topic “How does Jesus feel about women?” His subject matter was the Samaritan woman at the well. She was a woman who fit the 21st century lifestyle. She had been married and divorced 5 times and was living with a man. She was considered unclean to the Jewish people because of her race. What mattered to Jesus was her soul. He did not rebuke her,  ridicule her or condemn her!
He offered her living waters for her dry soul. It was probably His influence on her life that lead to Philip’s revival that won the entire town of Samaria to Jesus after His resurrection.

Ed and Margaret Dance did an amazing job singing this Sunday, everyone was truly stirred and blessed.

Pastor Karren Farley and Sister Melody gave out gifts to honor our mothers .

Saturday night and Sunday’s services were so full of blessings that it is hard to describe completely. Saturday night we were blessed by the ministry of the singing group “Chosen”.  They did the worship service. They literally charged the whole crowd and prepared them for the ministry of Apostle Ivory Hopkins. The alter service was dynamic with people healed and delivered.

Sunday morning began with Pastor Karren Farley enacting her drama to the song  “The Alabaster Box”. Following the drama the congregation brought their alabaster offerings.

Then the service continued with a song by Pastor Ed and Margaret Dance beginning a portion of service dedicated to Pastor’s Rick and Karren Farley for their 30 years of service. Rev, Bob Johnson from Ohio presented a poem that he had written about our Pastors. It was awesome and received a standing ovation. Apostle Hopkins preached a message about what attributes he had seen over the years in Bishop Rick and Pastor Karren.

Food and fellowship followed the service!

The special 4 pm celebration was awesome! Bishop Farley, David Ramey and David Beaver sang “Ain’t No Grave “ together. Apostle Hopkins ministered on “Working in the Grace God has given you instead of envying someone else's place in ministry.”

Bishop Farley spoke on the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in a Pentecostal Church service. He used scripture to explain dancing in the spirit, being slain in the spirit, prophecy, being drunk in the spirit and speaking in tongues.
He showed how any of these manifestations can take place in a service where the presence of the Lord fills the house.
The message in the evening service was from John 1:1. He explained how Jesus was before the beginning and that He was God! Then he explained that Jesus (The Word) was the creator of all that exists.

He uses chap stick in the winter, spring, summer and fall. He said that its like Jesus, you can call on Him in every season. It doesn’t matter what your trouble is, Jesus is always there.

The subject was declaring war on FEAR!

1. Fear not for “The Lord is There” -- Jehovah Shammah
2. Fear not for the “Lord will Provide” --Jehovah Jireh
3. Fear not for “The Lord is Conqueror”-- Jehovah Nissi

In Exodus 17 we find God’s people “facing their fears” as they fought against  the giants that were in the land promised to them.

Karren illustrated Moses holding the rod as God told him to, as they fought against the Amalek. As Moses held the rod up Joshua would win the battle. When his arms came down because of the tiredness and strain of holding the rod up, Joshua was losing the battle and people were dying. Moses arms became to hard for him to hold up. Then Aaron and Hur gave him something to set on and they stood on each side of Moses holding up his arms until Sunset. As a result Joshua and his troops crushed the army of the Amalek. We need the body of Christ to hold the pastor of the church up in prayer, support and unity to accomplish what God wants at the Christian Center.

WE ARE IN NEED OF A NEW CHURCH COPIER!

Our Church copier expired, bit the dust, gave up the ghost! We have had it for over 14 years. The repair man said it cannot be repaired. You can’t even get parts.  Fourteen years of use is awesome! We can purchase a digital one which is much more efficient for just 1,100 dollars. The cost of using our computer copier is approx. twelve cents a copy, the digital would be one cent per copy.  We need your help, we will raise our first offering this Sunday. Please pray about making a sacrificial offering.

Sunday Services

Bishop Spoke on the topic of “ Forgiveness” on Sunday May 30th. He said, Forgiveness acknowledges that there was a wrong committed. Forgiveness changes your status from victim to victor, and that forgiveness is the only road to freedom!

We took in two new members during the service, Dave and Melody Choiniere. We started something new by having new members sign their names and the date, in a Membership book.

Sunday June 6th the Bishop ministered on “Having Faith with Expectation!” He explained how the woman with the issue of blood was devastated in every area of her life. Sexually she could not touch her husband, Maternally she could not bear children, domestically she had no energy, emotionally she was fearful. Spiritually she was not allowed to attend church. Financially, she was broke.

What she did have was hope, she had heard that Jesus was in the area. She believed in a appoint of contact with her faith and she went with expectation.
You never sow a seed with out expectation! Have you ever met a farmer that sows his field and doesn’t expect a return! The Bible says that God is the Lord of the Harvest ! It doesn’t say He is the lord of the seed! He produces a harvest as you sow!

Sunday evening service the message was “where are my milk cows going, or how to carry the Glory of God wrong!”
These cows in 1 Samuel 6 walked all the way to their destination, Mooing! They were led by God but grumbled the whole way. So much like Christians today. Moo… I don’t like this other cow I’m yoked with, Moo…I don’t think her spots are in the right place.  Moo.. Look at those other cows in the field eating grass while I have to carry this ark!
The only thing they did right was walk to the rock , to be sacrificed to God, at the end of their journey.

Box Sermon
Jonathan had the book on Sunday the 30th. He placed a small coke bottle in the box.
Pastor Karren Farley used it to tell the children that Jesus was the real thing and that when you thirst after the things of God, He will satisfy you.

Then for the Box sermon this past Sunday June 6th, KJ placed a screwdriver in the box.

Pastor Karren talked about a 3 drawer file cabnet she had just assembled , when she came to the end, the last screw would not fit. So she had to loosen the screws in order to have enough space for the last screw to fit. That is the way life is sometimes. God has to take us apart to make us fit together properly.

This momentum has highlights from the last three weeks. This past Sunday morning Pastor Dance ministered on “Grace.” He did an excellent job of showing how God’s grace is poured into our lives and the great blessings of grace to us who never deserved God’s love for us.
This was the first Sunday that Randall Coyle was able to worship with us. It was a wonderful occasion.  He shared his testimony of God’s help and deliverance from prison and how the love and prayers of the church helped him. It was a happy day, that we were able to share in Randall’s joy.

Sunday Services
Pastor Dance sang a beautiful rendition of America the Beautiful. Bishop Farley ministered on Hosea 7 “Ephraim is an unturned cake.” Don’t be a half baked Christian.

Sunday the 11th Bishop Farley ministered on 1 John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” His thought was having the DNA of God in us, so that we can become partakers of the divine nature.
The evening service was Hope Institute Graduation. This year we had two graduates with their Assoc. of Theology Degrees. Robert Richards and Lenny Reese. Both of these men have come a long way since their salvation. Both were homeless Vets and alcoholics for 30 years. God saved them and delivered them. Lenny has been free for 9 years and Robert for 6 years now. Both are going into the ministry. God is so great!
Pastor Al Ford of John Wesley Community Church was our speaker. The  Women’s group from his church, known as Divine Destiny sang for us.

Box Sermon
A sink stopper was placed in the box. Rev. Karren Farley said, because of Jesus Christ dying on the cross, we can go to Him for forgiveness and all the debris and filth is forgiven and goes down the drain.

Pastor placed a wet wipes in the box and Elder Terry White ministered on how God cleans up our lives. Just like when we eat something messy and have it on our face and hands, we use a small wet wipe to clean ourselves. God can wipe us
clean of our sin if we let him.

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

The evening started with the song “Sing Glory, Glory Hallelujah”, the anointing fell as the congregation praised God. Then Bro. Ramey and Bro. Beaver sang a song that blessed everyone. We returned to praise and worship each song taking us deeper into God’s presence.

Apostle Hopkins ministered in a wonderful way on the topic of Spiritual Warfare. He shared how we need to realize that we need to do warfare against Satan in a number of areas. Mental Warfare, Emotional Warfare, Physical warfare for healing, Financial Warfare, Communication Warfare, and seven other areas that we are attacked by the enemy. Then he prayed for everyone in the prayer line.  The Spirit ministered to everyone in a wonderful way.

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

The second night of the 30 year celebration started off with a bang! I believe that the Trinity, God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost were in attendance. Worship was awesome and the spirit moved in our midst through worship!  Rev. Ramey and Rev. Beaver ministered in song and Apostle Hopkins began with a bang, reminding us that we are not "Fighting against flesh and blood." He spoke on what to do to achieve revival. The first thing is we must forgive!
Below is a picture witness of the service!

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

Rev. Glenroy Powell ministered on Worship. The message was great. He covered why we worship and who we worship, and how we worship. The Text was from the story of the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at the well. She raised the topic of where should God be worshiped.

Tonight we start with Apostle Ivory Hopkins at 7:30 pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to be ministered too. This powerful man of God is greatly used by God in many areas of the Holy Spirit.

Rev. David Ramey and Rev. David Beaver are back to sing during this 30th Anniversary Celebration. Rev. Ramey started his ministry at the Martinsburg Christian Center 30 years ago.

REVIVAL REPORT! Tuesday 20th

Another great night of revival with a little comedy. Bro. Ramey made Bishop Farley an honorary member of their team “Unity for Jesus.” They placed a cowboy hat on his head and presented him with medicine bag. They carry their anointing oil in it and use it for healing and deliverance.

They sang together, with Bro. Steve accompanying on the drums. Bishop said they needed a name for the group so he called them “Two big guys with an Indian in the middle and a longhair on the end!” They did two old hymns and harmonized pretty well.

Bishop Ryan preached a sermon about what he had done in life that was stupid or dumb and then what he had done that was right. It was a great message full of personal experiences that touched several lives very deeply.
He made a statement that he had never worn a cowboy hat in his life. So Bishop Farley took one up and placed it on his head.

Tonight is the last service of our spiritual renewal revival. Make plans to attend if you want a touch from God “NOW IS THE TIME!” Tonight is the night!

REVIVAL REPORT! Monday 19th

Where have you been, what is keeping you from attending this time of Renewal and Refreshing?  Last nights service was so rich in Word and Spirit. Bishop Ryan preached with a heavy anointing. He declared the word of God in power. You could feel the Holy Spirit all around you as God touched the hearts of those in attendance.

Bro. Steve Poland blessed us with the song “He raised me up!” and Rev’s Davie  Ramey and David Beaver blessed us with some more of their music ministry and harmony.
Pictured here is a strange group of preachers. From right to left:
Bishop Ryan, Bishop Farley, Rev. Davie Ramey, Pastor Dance, and Rev. David Beaver.

SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT!
Two more came forward to pray the prayer of faith and accept Jesus as their savior. God is so good to us!
The angels are rejoicing in heaven, over those that have come home.

RENEWAL AND REFRESHING! All of us need this revival, there are still 2 nights left!

Don't forget convention in Marlowe, WV (Falling Waters) starting Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. (Assemblies of God Conference Center, behind the tabernacle)
