TUESDAY MOMENTUM! March 2, 2010

Pastor Dance still needs prayer. He spent Saturday night and Sunday in the Hospital. He is home.
Sister Karren is doing much better and wishes to thank everyone for their prayers.
Pastor Farley is thankful for Bro. Steve’s help with worship this week.

Sunday

Bishop’s sermon was “The T-Shirt Sermon” in the morning service. He spoke on how people place thoughts or attitudes into our lives that control our lives as we grow. Words such as “You will always be a drunk like your father or why can’t you be good like your brother, why are you such a dummy!” So we end up in life wearing an invisible T shirt that controls who we are. The only one who can remove them and set you free, to be who you really are meant to be, is Jesus!

The message for the evening service was on seven different ways that God makes himself known to us in life. It is not always by sending fire , like he did for Elijah. He makes himself known by healing us. He makes himself known by filling us with his Spirit. He makes himself known by seeing the task accomplished, like He did for Nehemiah, etc.

Between services the Farley family had a luncheon in honor of Jason’s Farley’s 31st birthday.  Then they went to Jason’s grave and released balloons with messages, each person wrote from their heart. Then they had time of prayer and sang happy birthday to him. Keep praying for the family for healing. The one picture is of  his military flag, that was flown for his birthday, being taken down.

Box Sermon
Anna Christophel placed a purse in the box this week. Pastor Farley opened the purse and found two Barbie purses inside and a treasure chest. Pastor spoke on the small blessing that are inside the larger ones that God sends to us. He said that many times we miss the small things that happen when we are blessed, because they were contained in the big blessing.

Momentum: The seed or force of forward movement of an object!

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

Candid’s from Sunday:

Sunday
The message was taken from Isaiah 30: 7-18 entitled “A time when God Cried!”
Verse 7  For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
God went on to say that Isaiah was
to write down what was taking place for the latter days. He wanted us to see what would be happening to the church in our generation.  Verse 25  In the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Many believe the twin towers are a beginning of the signs in this chapter, soon to follow will be the wrath of God.
Verse 9  That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the LORD;  10  Who say to the seers, "Do not see," And to the prophets, "Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.  11 Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."
The Church world today! Don’t tell us about God, don’t mention the name of Jesus. Lets take out the cross and all references to Hell or judgment from our sermons. It’s too scarey and disturbing to our youth and yet Hollywood continues to produce films like Halloween 1-4, Saw 1-4, Paranormal, take me alive into Hell! And yet the mention of the name of Jesus or hell is too disturbing to us. Just give us positive messages and sermons on attitudes, don’t mention that there is a penalty to our sins.
God says you live in a house with bulging walls, soon they will fall down upon you.

Box Sermon

Wendy’s daughter placed a bow from her hair in the box. Bishop Farley was really stumped by the bow. He spoke on how God made each of us different, and that only girls wore bows in their hair. God made each of us as individuals to be able to share his message uniquely to others.

GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

Pastors Rick & Karren celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Pastors are on their anniversay vacation - Pastor Karren missed the snow much, so the best next thing was she made sand angels.

Well they thought they escaped the snow but here is proof they got some too!

We have seen enough snow to last a lifetime and we had to cancel church last week due to over 4 feet of snow.

SUNDAY AM

We had awesome services today.  Pastor Ed & Margaret along with Bro. Steve & Sis. Debbie led us to the throne room of God in our worship time to the Lord. Pastor Ed did the communion service. The presence of the Lord was with us in an awesome way.  We stand in awe of who he is!  Our Valentine sent His love to us today!

Revs. Tom & Monica Cohee ministered for us today.

Rev. Tom Cohee ministered in the morning service on “The Armour of God” from Ephesians 6:10 (you can watch the video clips here)

6:10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Why take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

SUNDAY PM

Rev. Monica Cohee ministered in the evening service on “Hope for Tomorrow” - He is the hope of glory!  Romans 5:1-5 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Hope: Hold Fast, Obey, Pray & Enjoy

Pastors Rick & Karren will be back next Sunday lets keep them in our prayers for safe travels

TUESDAY MOMENTUM! JANUARY 26, 2010

Momentum : The speed or force of forward movement of an object!
GOD IS ON THE MOVE AT THE MARTINSBURG CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!

We were away this weekend at our annual pastors meeting & ministered the at Pentecostal Family Church in Dover, Delaware.

We have finished the 21 day fasting. Its tim
e to trust and continue to seek God for the answers to your petitions you have laid before him.  I'm looking forward to seeing you this Sunday. I expect that we will met with our Heavenly Father's presence. Don't miss!

Prayer Overcomes Opposition - Nehemiah 1:4-5 4And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, 5And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

As Nehemiah approaches the Lord in prayer, he models a lifestyle of prayer to those watching.  In essence, he shows us how to come before the Lord in prayer.

1   Praise – Nehemiah 1:5 5And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

·         He begins by lifting up the Lord.  He recognizes God for his superiority, strength, sovereignty, sacredness and sincerity.

·         Jesus taught us to begin our prayers with praise as well:  Matthew 6:9 9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

2.  Perseverance – Nehemiah 1:6 6Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.

·         He didn’t stop praying till he got his answer.  Isn’t that really how we’re supposed to pray?  Not the little “now I lay me down to sleep” prayer or the “God is good, God is great” prayer…but the earnest prayer that is without ceasing.

·         A heart that is really burdened will not “let up” till the answer comes.

3.  Penitence – Nehemiah 1:6-7 6Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned. 7We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.

·         “Lord forgive me of my sins and the sins of my fathers.”  This is real repentance.

·         Repentance is a “must” if we want to see our prayers answered.  Psalms 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me

·         Nehemiah isn’t just pointing out other people’s faults – he starts with himself.

4.  Promises – Nehemiah 1:8-10 8Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: 9But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there10Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.

·         Nehemiah doesn’t forget the promises that God made to Israel.

·         God said He would restore the nation if they repented.

5.  Partners – Nehemiah 1:1111O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.

·         We need as many people as possible to surround us in prayer.

·         Matthew 18:19 19Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

6.  Petitions – Nehemiah 1:11 11O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer

This is what was really in his heart

I need grace in the sight of men

God wants us to ask Him for the things we need. Our faith must be exercised in asking.

God knows what we need – but he still wants us to ask.

CHURCH MEMBERS ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING ON JANUARY 27TH AT 7:30 PM.

Sunday

Gene Kline, a representative for the Gideons, was our speaker this week. He shared several inspiring stories about people who were lost and desperate, that found Gideon Bibles in hotels.  Reading these Bibles turned their lives around and saved them in their time of dire emotional need.

Bishop Rick Farley shared a message in the evening service entitled “Come See the Incredible Shrinking God!” He shared however since God created man, man has been trying to recreate God into their own image.

              We enjoy serving you!

THIS WEEK:

Karren Farley and Sister Frances Farley visited Alice Lovette and presented gifts of encouragement,  she has been unable to attend church for several months, due to her health. After visiting Alice in the hospital, Karren and Frances visited Mother Dance at her home. Sister Dance has been unable to attend services for several months. Karren said that they had an awesome time of prayer with both of the ladies.

Sunday
Pastor Ed Dance sang a beautiful rendition of Peace, Peace, Wonderful Peace!

Bishop Farley’s topic this week was “Fasting is Prayer on Steroids!” The message was taken from the book of Esther.
Esther asked that the Jews fast with her for 3 days before she presented herself to the King.
The results of their corporate fasting was four fold:
The enemy Haman was defeated.
God defends the Jews in the Kingdom.
They become the owners of the enemies territory.
(Mordecai became owner of Haman’s household and property and took his position, as second in command under the king.)
They grew in authority.

Box Sermon
Anna Marie placed a picture of Pastor Rick and Karren in the box. Pastor Karren spoke about their anniversary coming up in February. They will be married 40 years, February first.

She shared how it takes love and God’s grace to stay married for 40 years.
She encouraged the children to pray for their parents, teachers and for their classmates.

Bishop Farley is pictured reading a card for SSgt La-Toya Chappell, US Air Force. She wanted to thank the church for keeping her in our hearts and prayers while she was in Afghanistan. We praise God that she is now home safe.
Sunday
Bishop ministered from Esther about “The God of the impossible“. Esther had three strikes against her in life, that seem to disqualify her for any success in life. She was an orphan, so she never knew a mothers love or a fathers wisdom. She would have missed the feeling of belonging and security. Secondly, she was a woman in Persia. She could never own a business, hold a job, or own property, her only prospect was marriage. Since her parents were dead she had no dowry, so her chances of marriage were next to none. Upon Mordecai’s death she would have been left to beg for a living or prostitution. Thirdly, she was a Jew. She was a hated minority in the land of Persia. And yet God had a plan to use this life to deliver His people.
That means that you can be used by God! Regardless of your situation or station in life. One person can make a difference!

Sunday

Bishop Farley ministered on “The Mission of the Star!”

The star was sent to lead men to Jesus. Many who looked into the sky only saw a star. But the wise men saw the light, not just the star.
The star was shining so that it could lead men to the true light. That is our job. We should shine so that people look for Jesus, not to a star.
Too many Christians have become energy saving bulbs. They shine but give off far less light! We put an energy saver light bulb, in the fixture outside the church. However it could only throw light about 4 feet . We had to replace it with a real light bulb that lighted the whole front of the building.
What kind of light are you! Are you politically correct or do your really shine. The story of the star is that it brought great joy to the wise men, because they knew its meaning. It was leading them to the King of Kings.

Some of the Ladies surprised Wendy with gifts for baby Taylor, after service.  Pastor Ed helped to carry out the gifts afterward.

We had to cancel service this past Sunday because of the snow. Even though we really missed the fellowship with everyone and the thrill of Corporate worship, we were not snowed in from the presence of God. God is just as real as we stood looking out the windows, at the abundance of snow. I was thinking, that God created snow to be a blessing to mankind. Not only the beauty, but the fact that it cleans our atmosphere of pollutants, and waters the ground for the farmers crops. It brings quietness and fills up our precious ground water.

Karren stuck in the snow while she is making a snow angel.  See the Dog by the sign?

Sunday

At Christmas time something happened that is very rarely talked about on Christmas. We talk about the baby born in a stable, or the hardships of Mary as a pregnant teenager, the anger of Herod, or the joy of the angels. However John 1:14 says that on that day, the word became flesh.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Vs. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

The medical staff at the hospital were puzzled why a patient was not improving. The nurses were giving the proper medication. Yet, there was no improvement. The following day the nurse gave the medication and hid. Thinking the nurse had left, the patient spit it out. Too many Christians act similar when hearing the word of God. They retain it for a short time, then spit it out. As the result, there is no improvement in their Christian life.

So it is with the gift that God has given us. The gift of the Word of God. Jesus is the personification of the Word.

THE WORD OF GOD CLEANSES: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

ASK YOUR SELF WHAT AREAS OF MY LIFE CAN THE BIBLE CLEANSE?

It can cleanse me from wrong thoughts. Sometimes we are tempted to think critically of others: God’s Word can prevent this. (Ps. 1:2  On other occasions fearful thoughts may run race through our minds; the Scriptures will prevent this also. Josh. 1:8

The Bible can establish our total though life if we allow it to do so. Phil 4:8-9

IT CAN CLEANSE US FROM WRONG WORDS: James seems to be God’s expert on the sins of the human tongue. He shows us in the first chapter the absolute necessity of dependence upon the Scriptures to keep our words true.

IT CAN CLEANSE ME OF WRONG ACTIONS: Jesus promised us this would happen. “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. John 15:3

Thank God for His Word sent to us, to change our every existence. It also confirms truth and fact. It also equips us.
The Word was also God’s gift us this Christmas season. We just have to make sure we take in the prescribed dosage.

Rick and Karren’s wish for you this Christmas is: That you have joy, and that you be blessed abundantly by our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Sister Karren was privileged to be the devotional speaker at the Women’s Ministry Central Committee board meeting.
She spoke on being “Women of Confidence!”

Karren used Hebrews 10:35-36 “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
She shared that many of us have faced trials that would have been impossible to face if we had not believed God’s word,
we would not have gotten through it.

Messenger Publishing House arranged to sell Bishop Farley’s new book “God’s Standard Bearer” and had a book signing.
Pictured here is Bishop John Norvel of the Southwest Texas District with Bishop Farley.

Sunday
Bishop Farley’s message was from Psalms 115:4-8, entitled “We become like what or who we worship!”
When we worship something, it affects who we become as a person. The more we worship God, the more we become like Him!
Worshipping God is the way He can pry us loose from ourselves and make us stop holding on to the world and start holding onto Him.
God intends worship to restore us, fill us, motivate us, bless us, and fulfill us in ways we never dreamed possible.

Every time we worship God, we receive new revelation of God’s character. We were born to worship God.
He did not create us to be robotic beings who tell Him how great He is. He created us to be in communion and partnership with Him.

REVIVAL is on the way mark your calendars and invite family & friends.

But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. Bishop Farley & Pastor Karren are in Joplin, MO for general board meetings.
Keep them in your prayers for traveling mercies while they are away.

SUNDAY AM SERVICE

God's presence was once again awesome in our worship.  God gave a word to us through Bishop Farley, "Why do you doubt? Have I not told you I will do what I have promised, I have told you you are unique, don't doubt what I have said to you"  God filled the sanctuary with His presence as we praised and worshiped the Almighty God.  What a mighty God we serve!

Bishop Farley had a two dreams about Elder White and knew he was to pray for him for strength & protection in the Sunday morning service. Placing him the Bible circle Pastor Karren, Rev. Dance, & Bishop Farley prayed for Bro. Terry.  The Holy Spirit touched Bro. Terry.

Bishop Farley ministered on P.R.A.I.S.E.  Scripture text from Ephesians 2:19-22 19 Now therefore all of you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  21 In whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto an holy temple in the Lord:  22 In whom all of you also are built together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.  Bishop Farley used an example from the movie Sparta when a visiting monarch asked where were the walls and Sparta pointed to his body guards and said these are the walls of Sparta.  We are being built brick by brick together as a house of God and all the bricks have to participate in the Wall of Worship.

P = Present yourself
R = Raise your hands
A = Audibly give thanks
I = Invite the Spirit's presence
S = Sing a new song
E = Exercise your office

BOX SERMON

Jonathan brought a hole puncher for the Box Sermon.  Pastor Karren ministered that we could use the hole puncher to punch holes on paper when we would be frustrated instead of punching holes in a wall.  She demonstrated the hole puncher that you could punch holes in paper to make a sign.  And no matter what happens in our life ask God to help you because God is always there.

REVIVAL is on the way mark your calendars and invite family & friends.

SPECIAL VETERANS DAY SERVICE:

This Sunday we had five veterans attending the mornings service. We have representatives of all four branches in our congregation now. They were honored by the congregation with applause and a gift certificate for a meal at Ryan’s restaurant.

Pastor Dance sang America the Beautiful and Pastor Karren read this veterans poem:

Heroes By Jared Jenkins
In war, there are lives risked and lives taken. Men and women giving their best to defend what they love They defend their country. Their honor Their people, Some call them soldiers , Others call them heroes. Our veterans have risked their lives for us. They have lived through hell and fought with honor Many have killed and regret doing so. For every life, there is a soul , for every soul, there is a life. For those who have died, we show great appreciation and remembrance. For those who live, along with them live the horrific memories of battle. Some, memories of defeat. Some, memories of victory. Our veterans were more than soldiers . They were, and still are heroes!

Pictured here is our oldest Veteran, Dwight McClung. He is a 86 years old WW2 veteran.

Sunday

Bishop Farley’s sermon was entitled “How to be a Veteran in God’s Army. It takes the same principles to be a Veteran in God’s service as it does to serve our Country. You have to be a good soldier.  (2 Tim. 2: 3-4) What are those similarities?  Volunteerism, Great enlistment benefits, Being a soldier requires complete Faith, Complete Commitment, Complete obedience.

Blessing in Testimonies:

Steve and Debbie were blessed by Debbie’s mother with a  car. A New Yorker in perfect condition with only 37,000 miles. God is so Good!

Levi St Thomas received straight A’s and a high GPA .

A prophecy came fortfh stating “You are unique, I have made unique, so you can use your uniqueness to witness of my Son. This is why I made each of you different.

Saturday was at the Comfort Inn with Latter Rain and Pastor Paul ministering. Sunday Morning Bishop Farley ministered the word.

Sunday
Rev. Leonard Fyke was the Morning speaker at MCC. The Holy Spirit ministered in the service from the very beginning, with the Worship leading into the ministry of the Word of God in wonderful unity. Bro. Fyke’s message was “Who are we?” One of the key points was “Do you say Lord I know who I am or do you say Lord who am I? We are priests in God’s kingdom and we need to be taking our testimony of Jesus outside the walls of the church.

Bishop  Farley ministered in the evening service concerning the prayer that Hezekiah prayer after he had been told that his sickness would cause his death. It was a prayer that changed the mind of God and gave him 15 more years of life.  The Bible Dictionary says that the boil which Hezekiah had was probably anthrax, a disease that can be transmitted to humans from cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.

Wendy Christman was having contractions six minutes apart, however she wanted to be in church. At this time she is still waiting to deliver the baby. After the baby comes we will let everyone know what she needs for the baby and we will present the gifts to her on a Sunday morning.

BOX SERMON
Jonathan presented the box with a new pair of Tennis Shoes in side. Pastor Karren Farley immediately went with the thought about running with the word of God, to those that we come in contact with and how we need to be excited about serving Jesus. And sharing with others about what Jesus has done for us.

A thought for the week!
Pastor Paul Buracker and his church, "Redeeming Grace Fellowship" are celebrating their one year anniversary. They will be sponsoring a concert with the "Freeman Family" at the Parks and Rec. Center in Martinsburg. A special Saturday night service at the Comfort Inn on Edwin Miller Blvd. Everyone is invited to attend.

Sunday

The morning service was charged with the power of the Holy Spirit. Sister Karren was anointed as she lead us into worship. A prophecy came forth which said, “You know the Cross, I’m not there anymore, I’m here taking care of you. You ask, “Where are you God, why haven’t you come. You say no one will know when you are coming.” It won’t be long as it has been. If you want to know, study your word, when you see all these things coming to pass, watch for the signs through your word."

Bishop Farley shared some thoughts that Dr. Scott had ministered on in the district Conference. The fleshpots, fish, leeks, garlic and melons.  Sunday evening the message was “As you see the day approaching.” God had spoken this phrase to Pastor as he drove into church Sunday morning.

It was great to see our nephew Sgt Luke Farley, on leave from Cuba.

A thought for the week!

It’s been awhile since we have seen some of you in church. Lets rally together this coming Sunday morning October 25th. It will would be nice to see everyone at the same time in service. Being able to worship together with you adds so much to the corporate experience of worship. Coming into God’s presence together is a wonderful experience.

Sunday

Pastor Farley ministered from Rev. 5:11 this week. The glory of the Throne room. Can you imagine the sound of praise coming from 100 Trillion individuals standing around the throne , as everyone cried, "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” The very ground would shake from sheer volume. The Glory of God setting upon a Sadius Throne, with thunder and lightening coming from around the throne and across the sea of crystal glass. This holy glorious God, expects from us holiness in order to approach him. Peter said, “Be ye Holy, for I am Holy!”

BOX SERMON

Lily Choiniere placed a necklace in the box this week. Pastor Karren Farley spoke on how precious jewelry is to most people. It is usually given as a gift, or for a special occasion like a engagement ring. Jesus is to be that precious to us. He is something of beauty and value in a Christian’s life.

Please pray for Doris Sutphin and Alice Lovette.  Their Grandson/Great Grandson, Adam Sutphin died on October 9th, he was only 24 years old. The obituary, viewing and funeral service is included in this Tuesday Momentum.

THERE WILL BE NO SERVICE ON WEDNESDAY EVENING , SO THAT YOU MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE VIEWING.

A thought for the week!  Here’s a thought about how you view yourself.
Someone once said, “Anyone who thinks he is too small to make a difference has never been in bed with a mosquito”. How true! The way we see ourselves and the things we tell ourselves  have a lot to do with our success in life, including our service to God.
When the spies first went into Canaan and saw the people they were commanded to defeat, their report was: “And there we saw the giants… and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33)
Because the spies didn’t believe God could do through them what he declared He would do, they saw themselves as totally inadequate to accomplish the task. Therefore their cowardly report, “discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the Lord had given them” Numbers 32:9.  God’s promises always challenge and stretch us to do things beyond our own ability. But He knows what and how He is going to do it even before He makes the promise.

Sunday
Pastor spoke on the subject of being perplexed, but not in despair, from 2 Cor. 4. His subject was that when we are perplexed, confused or caught in a place of decision. Don’t despair or lose hope! Jesus is always the answer, turn to him.

BOX SERMON

Jonathan placed a fan in the box this Sunday. Bishop Farley spoke on how in ( 2 Timothy 1:6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.) That stir up is to rekindle or fan the fire. The fan blows wind upon us to refresh us when we are tired and hot. So it is with the Holy Spirit which blows upon us to refresh us.

Sunday

Pastor Farley ministered on “Misplaced Values. Hebrews 12:16-17 tells the story of Esau and how he sold his birthright for a bowl of soup. It tells us that even though he later sought it with bitter tears it was too late.
Value is placed on an object by several things:
    1. The situation
    2. The moment in time (He wasn’t thinking about the future only the now.)
    3. The worth of the object in a persons eyes.
ESAU PLACED VERY LITTLE VALUE ON SPIRITUAL THINGS! When he needed them, they weren’t there. It was a case of too little too late!

Anna Christophel testified about how thankful she was for her new baby sister.
The little ones enjoy giving in the offering jar.

Logan thanked God that his football team was undefeated and requested prayer for his back, which was hurting from playing football.

BOX SERMON:
Elder Terry White ministered the box sermon. Logan Christophel placed a book stand in the box. Elder White ministered on how the book stand was for displaying something. Then he ministered on how God displays our lives.

THE CONCERT WITH DOUG FERRIS!

Those who attended were blessed by the music and ministry of Brother Ferris. He wrote many of the songs which he sang . It was wonderful to have  someone minister in concert that was concerned about worship and adoration of Jesus.
So many in the music field today make it about themselves instead of about the God they serve.  It was refreshing to have someone minister God’s grace and share his love for Christ, in song.

Pray for Bishop Farley, he will be ministering in Akron, Ohio this coming Sunday
